Portraits are my jam.
Outside of weddings, I specialize in couples and female portraiture, although I like to dabble in a lil bit of everything to keep my eyes fresh. Headshots, high school seniors, bumps, boudoir, families, studio, commercial: let’s chat! I’m happy to discuss projects of any scope.
Rates begin at $250 for a headshot sesh, with all other shoots ranging from $350ish-$725+. Most sessions are structured to accommodate both half and full-sized options. All sessions are designed to feature you doin’ you, shown in the best light possible. Contact me for the full pricing guide!
How I know we will be a great fit—
01.
Having your session be a light, easy-going experience is important to you.
02.
You’re looking for a range of emotion to be captured, but you’re largely drawn to the laughing photos.
03.
You value true-to-life edits that will never go out of style.
04.
You want to grab a few Christmas card smiles, but you’d be thrilled to see the majority of your session shot candidly.

Of course! Shoots within the Twin Cities metro (up to 30 minutes of driving from my Saint Paul apartment) are already covered. For distances farther afield, an additional fee may apply. (And for you 507 lovelies—I do make it down to Rochester to see the folks every so often. Don't hesitate to ask when I'll be in your neighborhood next.)

For shorter sessions, one is the sweet spot to maximize our shooting time. For longer sessions of 1+ hours, I prefer the variety of two, typically one dressier and the other more casual. If you're stuck between options, bring 'em all and we'll pare them down together. To save time, feel free to send me some cell phone snaps a few days before our shoot so I can see what you're thinking.

All sessions are digitally delivered. Once final edits are finished, a link will be hitting your inbox, granting you download access for the whole collection. You’ll also be able to share your session directly on your social channels and order prints through my professional lab in Minneapolis. Another major bonus about your delivery platform: your photos are backed up for 10 years. So basically, until the time your newborn is doing high dives and spelling bees, or when you're celebrating a DECADE of life since your event, you’re covered here. How good’s that?

For a scheduled portrait session, if it looks like it'll be a steady stream of wet all day with no pockets of dry, we'll take another look at our schedules and see about coordinating a follow up session. I do generally have some flexibility in my schedule which allows me the freedom to shift appointments around if necessary. If both of our schedules are locked in tight, we’ll round up the umbrellas, find some shelter, and work with what our mommas gave us.

For real, who isn’t! That’s part of what I love about this job—getting you to a place where you feel comfortable enough to abandon the notion that you don’t know what to do in front of a camera. I’m not the kind of photographer to leave you hanging with nothing to do (unless you’re just full in the zone, then I’ll just yell effusive compliments your way basically the whole session) but I’m also not gonna micro manage every last thing down to your pinky fingers, making you second guess yourself. Trust that I got ya, that we’ll find the right balance for you + your person, and that everyone in my portfolio is a real person. (Many of whom that told me at the top that they “weren’t good at photos.” 😉)

First, all images go through color and tonal corrections to bring your images to true-to-life form. Next, I bring a selection of favorites (set amounts vary per session!) in for a round of light retouching as needed. Any light blemishes that have shown up on the day of your shoot are removed (or softened or untouched, if that’s your preference!) and any distracting background elements are modified, per photographer discretion. I pride myself on having an eye for detail and want all the focus to be on what makes you you.

Since I was a fresh faced 18 year old! After a successful career of mirror selfies for the Myspace audience circa 2006, I upped my game and found respectable employment at a highly regarded portrait studio south of St. Paul. My first real job included retouching blemishes and under eye circles for 40 hours a week, 5 summers in a row. Eventually I graduated to lead shooter, specializing in high school seniors, but the editing process has always remained a key component of my work. Ask for some before and after shots if you wanna see what I mean. Photoshop is my boyfriend.

Nope, I’m a Kimberly! Although if you knew me as Kimi growing up, you can stick with that.
