Jalissa + Zach! >> Bearwood Event Barn Wedding (Byron, MN)
A few months back, I started a gratitude journal. It’s a straightforward premise where you reflect on all that you’re thankful for, jotting it down on the daily to cultivate contentment in your life. It’s the mindset I brought to Jalissa and Zach’s wedding, and the one I’m about to carry over into the blog.
Ya ready?
(This is gonna be a good one, I can feel it.)
I AM THANKFUL FOR:
Jalissa!
Her bubbly enthusiasm and thoughtfulness made Jalissa the dream bride to photograph. J attracts joy, and radiates it 5 times back. She also does things like send thank-you notes, tucking a gift card inside for the small town donut shop she knows you and your boo met at for the first time. (IKR?!?!) I’ve got those cards tented on the dining room table, for how special they made me feel.
Zach!
For being willing to feel it all. (And then share it all.) Zach is a guy with brilliant comedic timing, easily making others laugh, while still leaving room for reverence. His vows were funny, yet full of feeling, and it’s obvious how deeply he connects with Jalissa. From my vantage point during the ceremony, I also loved seeing Zach turn to his bride right after she joined him on the altar, mouthing a sincere “WOW” to her. Another charming moment on a long list of them.
These families + friends!
You wouldn’t know that this wedding was a modified version of the original plan based on J+Z’s crew. They brought the energy, lifted these two up, with one groomsman even organizing a video of personal congratulations from Zach’s favorite athlete. (See if you can guess when, as you scroll!) The new Tauschers are rich in community, and their whole crew was a delight to be around.
A couple to fête!
Wedding planning in the midst of covid is strange, ask any couple. But the love isn’t. That part stays the same, and is even more amplified as the true purpose of a wedding is distilled. Jalissa and Zach are in love! Babes just wanted to be married!
I’m thankful for this bright spot of celebration. A beautiful union to rally around. An opportunity to live fully in the present.
To get to exist in that special zone behind my camera for the day is a gift, and I remain humbled to have been invited.
And lastly!
Friend’s themed wedding cakes. Cute grandparents. Wild rides on the Gater through the park. Scenic hilltops + beautiful sunsets.
Congrats, J+Z!
I’m sure thankful for you.
