Ethan + Alexia > Intimate + Emotional Larsmont Cottages Wedding (Two Harbors, MN)
It was the perfect August day in Duluth.
Reeeeally.
As a personal amusement, I decided as I arrived at the lake that morning that I was going to keep count of how many times I overheard anyone express the same sentiment.
And what I got was three.
THREE!
(And I'll admit, the last one was someone agreeing with me as I tried to coax them into marveling.)
Is it because half of the guest list was from South Dakota? Is that not so much a thing as it is over the border, here in Minnesota? They'd likely never lived in Duluth like the groom and I had (go Bulldogs!) and couldn't appreciate its true loveliness.
Or perhaps it was because there were countless other marvels happening that day to comment on?
Marvels, indeed.
(Yes, I choose option b.)
The Lion King Soundtrack was the first sound I heard upon entering the bridal suite, the dress Alexia made herself hanging in the doorway.
Her father officiated their lakeside ceremony that was both touching and lighthearted, and involved all members of their families.
Both bride and groom were in the habit all day of checking in with me to make sure I had food, water, and plenty of dessert. Eating my mashed potatoes, watching them at the head table, I mused upon my good fortune getting to see such a beautiful relationship up close all day.
After a costume change, the couple returned for a first dance like I've never seen before, engaging and electric.
After a pretty thrilling sparkler experimentation, and multiple hugs goodbye, Ethan told me: "You're not just anyone."
&Before they went to bed that night, they thoughtfully emailed a note of thanks my way.
Marvels they are, Ethan and Alexia.
Congrats, E+A. :*
