Joe + Karla >> Fun + Formal Greysolon Moorish Room Wedding (Duluth, MN)
A wedding is never “just a wedding” to me.
Not during nor after.
Despite living in Duluth for 3 years and having a host of my own personal memories, I guarantee you that when I find myself on Superior Street, future me catching a glimpse of Greysolon, I’ll think of Karla and Joe. I’ll think of the vows exchanged, and how I hoped no one could tell I was more than a little watery walking down the aisle to get a different vantage point, so humbling were their words.
Park Point? That spot too. It’s where he proposed to Karla, where we returned for some portraits, and will now live intertwined with memories of selfies in sub zero temps, and a college student taking fancy photos on the beach.
And my favorite reminder that I’ve already experienced: listening to Hold You In My Arms by Ray LaMontagne. Ray is a long time personal favorite, this particular song already being well played in the iTunes archives. It’s what Karla and Joe first danced to as husband and wife, and a new reason to pause when I hear those first familiar chords.
So, no.
A wedding is never “just a wedding.”
It’s a brilliant day I’m fortunate to document, and a long string of moments that stick with me far beyond a bouquet toss.
So honored that now I carry yours, K+J.
