Amber and the f/1.2

I welcomed  a new member to the family last fall: the Canon f/1.2 85mm L Lens!
(I know, her birth announcement is a bit belated, as are the photos to follow.)
As I had never even touched the lens before going ahead and hitting the “Submit Order” button, (aren’t all the best decision spontaneous and a bit irrational?) I figured I should probably take it out for a test run before inviting her to my next wedding.
And who else would I call but my love, my favorite, my Amber? ;)
What started as “Do you want to come by for a little half hour mini shoot so I can test out this new beast?” ended a few hours later with a stroll around the neighborhood, some great chats in my dining room, and a lot of laughs.

The very first shot at f/1.2. I about fainted straight away at the table after peering through the screen at that depth-of-field. You can’t even tell that’s my living room back there. Happy siiiiiigh.

Started with the greenery (errr… black and whitery) in my front yard — the reflections from the white siding were too glorious to pass up.

Next stop: the foliage outside the church a few blocks down the street.

Girrrl, you leave me speechless.

Fact: This photo is literally saved on my computer as iloveyouamber.jpg
Fact: I love you, Amber
