I recently did a brief phone interview for my alma mater’s newspaper. (Go, Bulldogs!) Along with my words, a head shot was requested to accompany. (Naturally I’m going to produce a new one, rather than ever recycle the same one twice.
) It was just a quick alumni catch-up to see what I’ve been up to since graduation, but it got me thinking that maybe I should let my blog readers also know what’s been happening with KH!
What’s been happening with KH: a quasi-hibernation this winter. The glacial frost has numbed my fingers and my joints are just unable to operate the shutter. I tell you, a Minnesota winter is not for the faint of heart… Joke! Well, sort of.
What’s been happening with Kimberly Halverson: in addition to photographer, now when I am asked what I do for a living, I also respond with “flight attendant.” For the past month I’ve been undergoing a fairly rigorous training program, preparing me for all the ups and downs I could experience at 30,000 feet. In class I’ve fought fires, practiced my self defense moves, learned how to properly give CPR, and there was eeeeven a section in my manual about (!!) delivering a baby. (I will without a doubt be praying before ever flight that this never happens on my plane.) Now with my training coming to a close this week, I will be up in the air and ready for some adventures in a matter of days! And you can be 100% assured that my camera will be traveling at the same speed that I am. I’m excited, reader, to bring you around the country with me as well, while I update my blog with new work.
Until then!
KH
