Imperial Inn. 1964. Great Falls, Montana.

I’ve gotten out of the habit in the past few months of posting my self portrait sessions as I feared they would soon begin to take over my blog. “Really? More photos of Kimberly? Let’s move on!” But I’m quite attached to my most recent project from Montana and I wanted to show you all more of what I do for fun, for me: an important part both personally and photographically.

I flew out spontaneously last week to visit a chum. Ended up falling in love. The new keeper of my heart: Great Falls Theatrical Costumes. And it was love at first sight. I drug aforementioned chum around that store until it closed, only to return the next day for one of the precious vintage garments that spoke to me. (Come ON! Those SLEEVES!) After a quick Google search through 1960′s glamour hair and make-up and a blundering attempt at replication (vintage curler set and all), we set off for the Imperial Inn: a somewhat decrepit hotel I had discovered upon my first visit to the area two years ago.

To start: the finished pieces.

Moving on to the unedited outtakes. :) Some of which I may go back and take a second look at… on va voir!

Smile on the right: spotting Windom in the parking lot, coming to join. :)

Meredith. Test model/panda bear?

Number one in the running for a real edit… Not my general style, leaving the face so dark.. but I think I’m digging it. Thoughts?

Singing and dancing his way through my test shooting. :)
